Morelia

Morealia is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Michoacan, and the municipal seat of the Centro municipality. Morelia reported a population of 658,524 in the 2005 census, whereas its Centro municipality had 558,524 inhabitants.

The Plaza de Armas of the city of Morelia , Michoacan in Mexico, is located in the historic center of Morelia and was drawn in 1564 by the Spanish Diego de Quijada, founding the city with the name of Villa Carmona.

Gastronomy:
Among the most popular is the Creole dishes pejelagarto, a primitive fish with lizard snout. Although traditionally eaten roasted, there are several ways to prepare it: one of them is in "chirmol", a kind of mole made with dough, pumpkin seeds and epazote. The fish is cooked into pieces.
